Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker saapuu Suomessa teattereihin huomenna 18. joulukuuta. Maailmalla se kuitenkin jo nähtiin ennakkonäytöksessä Hollywoodissa.
Elokuvan nähneet ovat kommentoineet sitä sosiaalisessa mediassa. Ohjaaja J.J. Abramsin kerrottiin onnistuneen. Elokuvaa kehuttiin muun muassa eeppiseksi ja maagiseksi. Lisäksi sen kerrottiin tarjoavan vastauksia kysymyksiin. Elokuvassa sanottiin myös tapahtuvan jatkuvasti paljon.
Ennakkonäytöksien jälkeisiin arvioihin kannattaa useimmiten suhtautua varauksella, sillä ne ovat usein hyvin positiivisia. Se huomioiden seassa oli yllättävän paljon vähemmän innostuneitakin kommentteja.
Eräs tuumi, että elokuva oli enemmän pettymys kuin hyvä. Toinen vihjasi elokuvan olleen liian täyteen ahdettu. Kolmas mietti, että Daisy Ridley loisti, mutta Abrams olisi tarvinnut yhden vuoden lisää elokuvan tekoa varten.

#RiseofSkywalker brings the serial feeling back to Star Wars. A lot happens, there is constant forward momentum. There seems to be a lot for future Expanded Universe to explain.

My favorite Star Wars are the ones that take their time and focus on the characters. The whole first half felt like all exposition. It does get better. And Lando rules. But there’s just so much plot it feels so rushed. And the Emperor stuff is so weird.
