Scarlett Johansson palkattiin Ghost in the Shell -ohjaajaa Rupert Sandersin tulevaan tositapahtumiin perustuvaan Rub & Tug -elokuvaan, joka kertoo Dante ”Tex” Gillistä (syntyjään Jean Gill) hierontalaitoksen omistajasta 1970- ja 1980-luvuilla. Hän oli myös rikospomo, joka johti kaupungin laittomia hierontalaitoksia.
Kuolinilmoituksessa Gilliä kuvailtiin sanoin ”hän oli nainen, joka halusi tulla tunnetuksi miehenä”. Paikallisen lehden mukaan Gill oli aloittanut sukupuolenkorjaushoidon ennen kuolemaansa.
Nettivoimat ottivat Scarlettin kohteeksi ja syyttävät näyttelijätärtä muun muassa siitä, että hän vei joltain transihmiseltä työpaikan, koska ei itse ole sellainen.
