Lapset itkivät, kun Glasgow’ssa järjestetyssä Willy Wonka Experience -tapahtumassa kävi selväksi, että tapahtumaa myytiin tekoälyllä luoduilla feikkikuvilla, eikä se muistuttanut edes etäisesti minkäänlaista hauskanpitoa.
Kyseessä oli vain halvalla koristeltu varastotila, jonne maksoi sisään noin 40 euroa. Tapahtumaa myytiin kuitenkin samankaltaisena spektaakkelina kuin Timothée Chalametin Vonkka-elokuvaa.
Sadat vanhemmat ja lapset tulivat paikalle, eivätkä löytäneet muuta kuin likaisia paikkoja ja muutama vuokrattuja koristeita. Järjestäjät kehottivat paikallaolijoita improvisoimaan ja leikkimään kalusteilla.
Tilaisuuden järjestänyt The House of Illuminati tarjosi lopulta kaikille noin 850 vieraalle täyden hyvityksen.
