Diablo IV on raju uutuuspeli. Siinä kuolee paljon. Etenkin hardcore-moodissa, jossa kuolema on lopullinen ja koko grindi pitää aloittaa aina alusta.
Blizzard-studio palkkasi näyttelijä-malli Megan Foxin lohduttamaan hahmonsa menettäneitä pelaajia. Pelaajien piti vain kirjoittaa Twitteriin #DiabloDeaths ja Fox luki pelaajille muistopuheita. Etenkin tunnetut streamipelaajat saivat näkyvyyttä.
Tempaus tapahtui 8. kesäkuuta, ja se sai melko nihkeän vastaanoton maailman pelimedioilta. Mainostempausta kutsuttiin muun muassa seksistiseksi ja halventavaksi.
